Wind tunnel office concept pitched at tropical climesBy embracing wind "as an architectural element", architectural practice Betillon/Dorval-Bory believes its anabatic office concept is ideally suited to hot and humid climes. But rather than relying on natural air movement, the anabatic office seeks to create its own wind, so that energy-efficient cooling can occur where little natural wind occurs. Acer Comes After Former CEO Gianfranco Lanci For Breach Of Non-CompeteGood morning, and welcome to our Tuesday edition of People Suing Each Other. In the far corner, we have the number four PC maker in the world, Acer, based out of Taiwan; and in the other corner we have Acer former CEO Gianfranco Lanci, based out of Italy, who resigned in February of 2011 after being with the company since 2007. The beef? Well, according to the Financial Times, Mr. Lanci signed a non-compete contract with Acer that was meant to last a full year after his resignation. However, Lanci instead hopped on the Lenovo train in September (about seven months after leaving Acer) as a consultant, at which point he was made the head of Lenovo's Europe, Middle East and Africa businesses last month.  .. more >>

MeetingBurner Debuts Sleek, Webinar Platform To Rival WebExBecause I live in Chicago, I tend to conduct a lot of demos and meetings with startups and companies over webinar products like GoToMeeting or WebEx. While they get the job done for the most part, the UI is clunky and slow. Today, MeetingBurner is releasing its sleek, fast, and easy-to-use remote meeting product to the public. And the first 200 signups here will receive a free MeetingBurner Pro account. MeetingBurner, which is exiting beta today, offers a download-free interface lets participants join a meeting via a link sent to their email. Not only is it the load time fast, but the interface is simple and easy to use. Meeting attendees have the option of joining via phone or Skype. Administrators can record meetings, and share on  .. more >>

While 3D printers build, iModela carves3D printers are certainly hot technology these days, with machines like the Printrbot, MakerBot and Cubify launching on a regular basis. But while most of these devices focus on building something from the ground up, Roland DG has unveiled a new machine that does the exact opposite. Ferrari launches 2012 Formula One tilt with F2012With the northern Italian town of Maranello draped in snow, Ferrari Scuderia's launch of its 2012 F1 contender - the F2012 - had to rely on the internet. It may not have had the same pizzaz, but the show did go on. Along with repositioned radiators, the most obvious change is to the rear, where exhaust flows, both engine, radiator as well as aerodynamic air flows have been impacted by the new regulations that stipulate the exhausts must now exit within a very tight space at the rear of the car in order to minimize their aerodynamic influence...
